My name is Valerie DeVincent, and I am the owner and furniture artist of Mariposa Creations by Valerie. I am a wife, mother of two daughters and a son and stepmother to two sons. We have seven grandchildren within our beautiful family. Our oldest grandson is 18 and our youngest grandson is 8. They all know me as Grammy or Grammy Val. 

 

I was a realtor for thirteen years, but my life’s dream was to become a teacher. So, I went back to college at age 36 to earn my elementary education degree. I taught first and second grade students for twelve years before retiring. 

 

After I retired, I discovered a love for redesigning outdated furniture. Taking tired and often discarded pieces that were headed for the landfill and reimagining them into something special is my passion. A little over three years ago with the encouragement of my husband, I started Mariposa Creations by Valerie. Sharing my knowledge through social media LIVES, videos and reels, helps me to stay connected to two of my greatest joys, teaching and creating.  Creating unique, one-of-a-kind designs feeds my soul. My business continues to evolve and grow which is so exciting! I can’t wait to see where this journey leads!
