Hello! My name is Valerie DeVincent and I am the owner/furniture artist for Mariposa Creations which is based in the Bethany Beach/Fenwick Island area. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, retired elementary school teacher and now a furniture artisan. I taught first and second grade students in Howard County, Maryland for years. When my husband and I moved to the beach area, I never dreamed I would start my own business and make so many wonderful friendships along the way! You see I never believed it would be possible for me to enjoy anything as much as teaching, but breathing new life into tired furniture has brought a renewed sense of joy. Each piece that I redesign is unique, special and one of a kind.

This is what we will offer for our private Facebook subscription class:
1. We will be sharing a combination of live and prerecorded tutorials in a private subscription group setting.
2. We will demonstrate how to apply decoupage paper to a vintage mirror! We will show how to apply decoupage to the front of glass as well behind the glass (known as reverse decoupage).
3. We will share how to employ the same technique, using a variety of methods. The more ways you learn the greater your chances are for success!
4. We will demonstrate how to hide the paper edges, how to blend out the image and what colors to choose in order to pull it all together.
5. We will share our favorite products, which products are best for a specific purpose and where to get them.
6. We will each also work on an additional piece of furniture with all of you from start to finish. We will share how to prep a piece (because prep is literally the foundation for success). Then we will demonstrate different painting techniques, followed by different ways to embellish each piece.
7. We will share our tips and tricks with you, because there is always more than one way to create something spectacular!
